Friday Church Plant Prayer Post August 27

“God shapes the world by prayer. The more prayer there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces of against evil …” E.M. Bounds

We have a lot going on for a church that hasn't even had a public worship service. We have four outreaches and our first public worship service over the next three weeks. But we are not doing this just to stay busy...we are doing it because we care about our community and want to see lives transformed for Jesus.

Our first public worship service is Sunday, September 12, 10am at Hampton Inn on Merily Way. Check out www.daytoncrossroads.com for more details.

If you would like to be part of future events, please contact me by emailing me here, checking out our Events page, or by connecting on our new church Facebook page.

Make sure you don't miss a prayer update, you can subscribe by RSS Feed or by Email.

Prayer Requests:
  1. Be praying for tomorrow's outreach: $1 Car Wash Outreach, August 28. This has become one of my favorite outreach events. We will be giving people $1 to wash their car. This is always a lot of fun.
  2. Upcoming Outreaches: Popsicle Outreach on September 4, and Hot Dog Outreach on September 11. These all lead up to our first service at the Hampton Inn.
  3. Be praying for launch team members. We need many people to catch fire for the vision of this church, join us, and help us get up, running, and making a difference in the lives of people in Huber Heights. We are praying for God to provide someone who has a passion to help children know God and grow closer to Him.
  4. Pray for God openings in people's lives. We want to be a church that reaches lost people...so we need God to create opportunities for us to meet them and share His love with them.
  5. Be praying for our first monthly service on Sunday, September 12 at 10am at the Hampton in Huber Heights. Please pray for people to attend and for God to move in their lives, even at this early stage, to accept God's love and salvation. Also be praying  for our follow-up of our guests that out of this group others will sign on as volunteers and launch team members. I am praying that God would give us an attendance of 30+ people for our first monthly service. Please also pray that God supplies the money for the rental and the equipment we need.

Friday Church Plant Prayer Post August 13

“The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God's standing challenge, ‘Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not!’” J. Hudson Taylor

I am making the transition from the Dayton Vineyard to other employment. Please be praying as me and my family make this adjustment.

We are also looking ahead to what God is going to do at our first monthly service. Help us get the word out to family, friends, and neighbors who live in the Huber Heights or surrounding area. We would like to see 30 in attendance. The service for the new church in Huber Heights will be Sunday, September 12 at 10am at the Hampton Inn on Merily Way. Anne Rice Leaving Christianity

Earlier this week Anne Rice announced she was leaving Christianity...
For those who care, and I understand if you don't: Today I quit being a Christian ... It's simply impossible for me to ‘belong’ to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I've tried. I've failed. I'm an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.

My faith in Christ is central to my life. My conversion from a pessimistic atheist lost in a world I didn't understand, to an optimistic believer in a universe created and sustained by a loving God is crucial to me," Rice wrote. "But following Christ does not mean following His followers. Christ is infinitely more important than Christianity and always will be, no matter what Christianity is, has been or might become.
As I was thinking about the article and my thoughts on it...I came across this article which I wish I had written. Great thoughts from Bob Hyatt.
