Scammed by WLI and Classmates

I log in to my bank account on a regular basis to keep tabs of things. I logged in this morning, and discovered two charges from an unauthorized company. It was listed as WLI*SHOPPERDISCOUNT and as WLI*RESERVATIONREWARDS.CO. This group also goes by the name Webloyalty.com

Come to find out this is a company that gathers information about your account via your online purchases and then puts their information in the small print. Then they charge you once, several times, or even on a "subscription" basis. We got it because of a Classmates.com order. Classmates.com scams their subscribers with this "small print" trick.

Here are some additional articles about it Here (this site names some of the culprit websites) and Here.

If you have made an online purchase, you might want to check out your history of charges.

  1. Good for you to post this on a well read Blog.

FYI, there is a Class Action suit underway against WLI. It was filed late in 2006 and the law firm has a web page with info and an email address that victims can use to send along details of their cases.

It's linked on our website TempSensorNEWS.com that has taken over the news role from TempSensor.net where we reported our first info on this scam in 2005.

It is amazing that they are still at it and raking in millions from unsuspecting people even two years after they were first outed!
